APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the backup-archive client dsmerror.log file is in a
    non-default directory, then the log messages are not displayed
    in
    the IBM Spectrum Protect Operations Center client "Diagnosis"
    panel.
    
    The Web Client messages.log file includes a Java "file not
    found" exception for file name "dsm..opt":

Local fix

  • Create a symbolic link named "dsmerror.log" that links to the
    dsmerror.log location.
    
    For example, if dsmerror.log is in C:\SP_Logs, then run the
    following command:
    
    mklink "C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\dsmerror.log"
    C:\SP_Logs\dsmerror.log
