IT44093: AUTOBACKOFF FEATURE NO LONGER WORKS IN HOST ON-DEMAND (HOD) V15.0.0

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Issue:
  HOD administrator is testing out the new HOD v 15.0.0 release.
  
  
  After successfully upgrading from v14.0.4 to v15 he launched a
  HOD session from desktop which upgraded to v15. HOD
  administrator uninstalled
  
  HOD v 15.0.0 from the server via the uninstall command. Then
  re-installed v 14.0.4 via Installation Manager; HOD directory
  had to be manually
  
  deleted as it would not install otherwise.
  
  HOD administrator restored the HOD directory from a backup
  created prior to the HOD v 15.0.0 upgrade.
  
  HOD administrator added the additional HTML parameter
  AutoBackOff = true to the session.
  
  When launching the HOD session from the desktop, HOD does not
  downgrade and it is still shows HOD v 15.0.0.
  
  HOD administrator knows how to manually correct it but that is
  not a solution at the enterprise level. If HOD administrator
  
  were to need a downgrade from HOD v 15.0.0 it should be as
  seamless to the end user as possible.
  
  This was working when upgrading to HOD v 14.0.4
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Host On-Demand fails to downgrade Host On-Demand clients when
  we set AutoBackOff HTML parameter to true.
  

Problem conclusion

• When a user sets AutoBackOff to true, ideally HOD clients should
  get synched up with the Host On-Demand Server version, but this
  fails. The Client does not get downgraded/synced up with Host
  On-Demand Server version.
  .
  Code changes have been made to fix this issue.
