    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The web server crashes in Plugin's detailedLog function due to
    an invalid memory location of the 3rd parameter passed to the
    function. Call stack indicates detailedLog was invoked by
    webSphereExecute. The issue can occur after the plugin fails
    to receive a response to a request forwarded to the WebSphere
    Application server.

Problem conclusion

  • The plugin module closes the socket to the WebSphere
    Application Server after a request failure. Plugin attempted
    to log error information including some socket details after
    the socket was closed. If the memory is reused before the data
    is logged, a memory access violation can occur.

    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
    8.5.5.24 and 9.0.5.17. For more information, see 'Recommended
