APAR PH54171: IBM DOORS Client 9.7.2.7 Crash following an edit mode change using a view that contains a filter

Troubleshooting


Problem

The v9.7.2.7 client will crash without error if a module view containing a filter is loaded, then the edit mode is changed
from read-only or shareable edit, to exclusive edit.

The IBM DOORS Client 9.7.2.7 was re-issued on 10 July 2023 to include a fix for this issue. See here for details.

 

Symptom

To recreate:

 - create a module and insert an object
 - create a filter e.g. "Object Heading is not empty"
 - save a view containing that filter
 - with the view loaded select Edit;Edit mode;Read-Only
 - now select Edit;Edit mode;Exclusive edit

Cause

A defect (PH54171) was identified post-release in IBM DOORS Client 9.7.2 Fixpack 7 (9.7.2.7).

Environment

DOORS Client 9.7.2.7 on Windows

Diagnosing The Problem

Your DOORS Client 9.7.2.7 crashes immediately after a user switches the Module Edit Mode (for example from read only to shared edit), while the user uses a view with an active filter.
Crashes in other situations might not be due to this defect.
