Error description
AOC: When running Object Compare in CMDELTA mode, ALTER TABLE statements cause the tablespace to be requested for the compare DESCRIPTION: When running compare in CMDELTA mode and extracting from the catalog, the tablespace gets requested whenever any ALTER TABLE statements appear in the source DDL. This applies when bound to function level V12R1M506 and above after the support of implicit drop of objects. The tablespace request puts the target objects at the tablespace level, which can cause numerous drops and recreates, especially when the source DDL is at the table level and the drop of objects is not suppressed. Classic compare and CMDELTA should handle the requests differently.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CMDELTA mode in Object Compare leads * * to requesting the table space during * * catalog extraction when processing * * ALTER TABLE statements. * **************************************************************** When running Object Compare using CMDETLA mode (Generate Apply Job = Change) on V12R1M506 or higher, ALTER TABLE statements contained in the source cause the table space to be requested during catalog extraction. When the source is at the table level and DROP suppress is NO (Suppress DROP of objects = NO), this situation might cause many drop and recreate operations. Keywords: CMDELTA ALTER TABLE
Problem conclusion
The problem has been resolved. When running in CMDELTA mode, Object Compare will automatically suppress the table space request for any ALTER TABLE statements. Behavior remains unchanged in classic compare (Generate Apply Job = Yes/No).
