IT43880: STORAGE SYSTEMS INCORRECTLY MARKED FOR REMOVAL DUE TO EXPIRED MAINTENANCE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Although maintenance agreements were extended for some storage
  systems and currently active, Storage Insights incorrectly shows
  that the systems will be automatically removed within 90 days.
  The maintenance expiration date matched the warranty expiration
  date and not the current maintenance agreement expiration date.
  There are 3 examples below of how this information is presented
  in Storage Insights.  With Storage Insights Pro, these messages
  are not displayed and systems without active maintenance will
  not be removed.
  
  Example 1:
  Storage System Maintenance Expired
  <#> storage systems maintenance are expired, they will be
  automatically removed.
  
  Example 2:
  This Storage system maintenance has expired on <warranty
  expiration date>.
  Remove this storage system from IBM Storage Insights if it no
  longer needs to be monitored. If no action is taken, it will be
  automatically removed on <date>.View Details
  
  Example 3:
  Maintenance contracts for the storage systems on this page are
  expired. If you no longer need to monitor these storage systems,
  remove them from IBM Storage Insights. If you don't remove these
  storage systems, they will be automatically removed 90 days
  after their maintenance contracts expire.
  
  To keep monitoring a storage system, you must extend its
  maintenance contract or upgrade to IBM Storage Insights Pro.
  

Local fix

• Contact IBM Support for assistance if you believe your devices
  are incorrectly marked for removal and the removal date will
  occur before a fix is available.
