Error description

• The Change Tracker started task abends with the following
  messages:

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. The started task terminates with     *
  *                         GETMAIN abend 80A-10                 *
  *                      2. Abend 0C4 when running the           *
  *                         SURVEILLANCE command against a data  *
  *                         set with no members.                 *
  *                      3. Abend 0C4 when running the           *
  *                         SURVEILLANCE command against a data  *
  *                         set that is protected with the       *
  *                         QUICKMODE=YES option.                *
  *                      4. Abend 0C4 in CYGTKEXT on STC         *
  *                         shutdown.                            *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  1.The started task terminates with GETMAIN abend 80A-10 when
    there is heavy open/close activity on a protected data set.
    The following messages appear in the started task log:

  2. Abend 0C4 when running the SURVEILLANCE command against a
     data set with no members.
  3. Abend 0C4 when running the SURVEILLANCE command against a
     data set that is protected with the QUICKMODE=YES option.
  4. Abend 0C4 in CYGTKEXT on STC shutdown.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. The amount of storage freed on close for a directory area was
     less than the amount originally obtained, causing the started
     task to run out of storage after many close operations. The
     amount of storage freed is now equal to that obtained.
  2. Incorrect handling of empty data sets in SURVEILLANCE is
     fixed.
  3. Incorrect handling of QUICKMODE data sets in SURVEILLANCE is
     fixed.
  4. A storage area was being prematurely freed. The freeing of
     the area is moved to a later stage in the shutdown.
