Error description

  • The Required Date value in Create Pick List dialog in the
'Manage Inventory' work center, has its DD and MM (Day and
    Month) values swapped.
This issue occurs with a non-American date format in Locale. The
non-American Date format DD-MM-YYYY is changed to the American
Date format MM-DD-YYYY, which is the actual issue here.
    - If the chosen DD value is in the 1-12 range, you might not be
aware immediately of this swap of the DD and MM (day and month)
    values.
    - But if the chosen DD value is in the 13-31 range, ie. if you
have a Day value above 12, that value is being assigned to the
MM value, and the BMXAA4144E - The date/time format is not
valid" error therefore comes up because any 13-31 value cannot
be a Month value (only 1-12 allowed).

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Do first test when Required Date value has a DD value in the
    1-12 range.

    * Log on to Maximo.
    * In Profile/Default Information, set Locale = en_AU (for
    Australia)
    * Go to Inventory application and select Add/Modify
    Reservations
    * Add a new reservation (eg, for Item FLT221-A, From Storeroom
CENTRAL, Qty 3, Requested Date = April 5, Required Date = April
    10.
    * These dates show as Requested Date = 5/04/23, Required Date =
10/04/23 in the Australian Date format.
    * From Work Order field, hyperlink to Work Order Tracking,
select a WO in APPR status and Return with value.
    * Click OK in Add/Modify Reservations dialog.
    * Go to Manage inventory work center.
    * Set filter Dates on the Reservations tab: From = April 1, To =
    April 30
    * The reservation made in Inventory is showing in the list.
    * Check the box for this reservation and click Create Picks
    option
    * You get the Create Pick List dialog: it shows Required Date
    = 10/04/23
    * Enter a description PickList #1 and then click on Pick
    List.
    * NO error comes up.
    * Go to Pick and Stage tab and enter same date range: From =
April 1, To = April 30 and refresh list.
    * The new Pick List does not show.
    * This is because the Required Date date has had its DD and MM
    values swapped.
    * For example, the new date of April 10, 2023 (10/04/2023 in
Australia date format) was actually changed to October 4, 2023 =
4/10/2023 in Australia date format ( DD and MM have been
    swapped).
    * Change the date range so that it includes that wrong date,
for example: From = March 1, To = December 31.
    * This time, the Pick List value shows in the Pick and Stage
    tab.
    * You can see the Required Date field is incorrect: it shows
    4/10/2023 in Australia date format.
    * The DD and MM values have therefore been swapped.

Do a second test, this time with a Required Date value where the
DD value is in the 13-31 range instead.

    * Go to Inventory application and select Add/Modify
    Reservations
    * Add a new reservation (eg, for Item FLT221-A, From Storeroom
CENTRAL, Qty 3, Requested Date = March 22, Required Date = March
    27.
    * From Work Order field, hyperlink to Work Order Tracking,
select a WO in APPR status and Return with value.
    * Click OK in Add/Modify Reservations dialog.
    * Go to Manage inventory work center.
    * Set filter Dates on the Reservations tab: From = March 1, To =
    March 31
    * The reservation made in Inventory is showing in the list.
    * Check the box for this reservation and click Create Picks
    option
    * You get the Create Pick List dialog.
    * Enter a description PickList #1 and then click on Pick
    List.
    * The following error comes up this time: [ BMXAA4144E - The
date/time format is not valid. Make sure the date/time is
specified in a valid format supported by the current locale
setting. For input string: "Inv" ]

    RESULTS:
The BMXAA4144E - The date/time format is not valid" error
actually only occurs when Requested Date and/or Required Date
values have a DD value above 12 (therefore between 13 and 31 of
    the month).
it is actually just a symptom what is happening: the Requested
Date and/or Required Date field have the DD (day) and MM (month)
    values swapped.
Locale = en_AU (Australia) has Date format DD-MM-YYYY and this
Date format DD-MM-YYYY is being changed to the American Date
format MM-DD-YYYY, which is the actual issue here.
As a consequence, if you have a Day value above 12, that value
is being assigned to the MM value, and the BMXAA4144E - The
date/time format is not valid" error therefore comes up because
any 13-31 value cannot be a month value (only 1-12 allowed).

    EXPECTED RESULTS:

The value of the Required Date field in Create Pick List
dialog in the 'Manage Inventory' work center should not be
modified, regardless of the Locale being used.
