OpenSSL is used in IBM Storwize V7000 Unfied for providing communication security by encrypting data being transmitted.
CVEID: CVE-2017-3731
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an out-of-bounds read when using a specific cipher. By sending specially crafted truncated packets, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using CHACHA20/POLY1305 to cause the application to crash.

The product is affected when running code releases 1.5.0.0 to 1.5.2.5 and 1.6.0.0 to 1.6.2.1
Remediation/Fixes
A fix for these issues is in version 1.5.2.6 and 1.6.2.2 of IBM Storwize V7000 Unified. Customers running an affected version of IBM Storwize V7000 Unified should upgrade to 1.5.2.6 or 1.6.2.2 or a later version, so that the fix gets applied.
