APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • SYSTEM.PROTECTION.ERROR.QUEUE used as a dead letter error queue
for AMS protected messages when an MQGet fails for certain
reasons. If the AMS protected message also has properties (for
    example like RFH2 message properties)
those properties are not retained during the error processing
to the SYSTEM.PROTECTION.ERROR.QUEUE and back to the protected
    queue.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An application that fails to unprotect a message with AMS, the
message properties may be not retained during the error
    processing
to the SYSTEM.PROTECTION.ERROR.QUEUE and back to the protected
     queue.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ AMS MQGET interceptor code is changed to deal with the
message properties properly when an application failed to
    protect the message.

The MQGET interceptor logic executes where the AMS decryption is
performed. This is the application/client side, unless MCA
interception is enabled for the channel in use, in which case
the interceptor logic executes within the queue manager channel
    process .
