APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using IBM Developer for z Systems (IDz v15.0) when you open a
file with COBOL Editor and perform a  Save as  with an
overwrite on an already existing file, the target file appears
twice in the Remote System view.

I edited an HELLO program that shows up with an extension (i.e.
*.cbl)
Save it as HELLO2
Then add a comment in HELLO and save it as HELLO2 again (by
checking "Overwrite" checkbox)
Two lines â HELLO2 are then displayed under my location in the
Remote system view

Local fix

  • Using the Refresh Information from the selected resource,
deletes the additional line

Problem summary

  • Performing a  'Save as'  with an overwrite on an already
existing file with extension such as JCL or CBL, the target file
 appears
twice in the Remote System view.

Problem conclusion

  • Resolved the save-as issue with extensions on file
