How can I download a copy of IBM® Spectrum Control™ V5.4.10 from IBM Passport Advantage® Online?

Answer

To download and assemble the installation parts:

  1. Go to IBM Passport Advantage Online , click Customer sign in, and sign in by using your IBM ID and password.
  2. On the Software and services online page, click Software download & media access.
  3. Find your entitled software by using these search options:
    • Use Find by part number to search for a specific part number of a component.  Part numbers are shown later on this page.
    • Use Find by search text to search for a text string within all your entitled software.
    • Tip: To quickly and reliably find and download a specific component, use the Find by part number search option
  4. On the product download page, ensure that the Required check box is selected, and then click Download. Do not select the Optional check box unless you are sure that you want to download optional parts. If you determine that you want to use that functionality later, you can download and install optional parts at any time. The tables below these steps contain the descriptions and part numbers for the required and optional parts for each IBM Spectrum Control edition.
  5. When the download is finished, complete the following steps:
    1. Optional: Verify the checksum values for the downloaded files.
    2. Follow these recommendations to extract the downloaded files:
      1. Extract the IBM Spectrum Control server image file into a single dedicated directory. Use the GNU tar program when you extract the files on AIX.
      2. Extract the IBM Db2® image file into a single dedicated directory.
      3. Extract the IBM Cognos® Analytics Server image files into a single dedicated directory.
    3. To install the product, follow the instructions in the IBM Spectrum Control documentation.

Required parts

The following tables separate the required parts for IBM Spectrum Control by operating system. A license is required and must be provided during new installations. The license is available on Passport Advantage Online based on product entitlement. If you are upgrading rather than installing IBM Spectrum Control, the DB2 image might not be required. See the supported platforms matrix for Db2 version support details.

Availability:
  • IBM Spectrum Protect Snapshot is available with all IBM Virtual Storage Center editions and with licenses to IBM Spectrum Control Advanced and IBM Spectrum Control Advanced Select editions.
  • IBM Spectrum Protect Snapshot is not available with IBM Spectrum Control Standard Edition or IBM Spectrum Control Standard Select Edition 5.4.1 and later.
