IT42741: HIGH CPU USAGE AND INTERNAL SERVER ERROR WHEN DB BACKUP HISTORY REPORTS ARE RUNNING VIA REST API

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the Database Backup History report is invoked via
  a REST API call using the /ngp/analytics/dbbackuphistory
  endpoint, the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus appliance's CPU
  utilization can increase to a sustained 100% usage, until the
  report generation fails with an error several minutes later.
  
  The error returned from the REST call is:

         'error': 'Internal Server Error', 'message': ''}
  
  This is similar to the issue described in APAR IT42102 but
  affecting a different report type.

• Run the Database Backup History report using the IBM Spectrum

Problem conclusion
