Error description

  • The GETMAIN front end module (DFHEKC) has not been updated to
recognize the new PCDSA, PUDSA, EPCDSA and EPUDSA DSAs so is
failing and - incorrectly - reporting the RESP2(6) error when
checks are made on the allocated storage. The setting of the IEP
toggle does not change the DSA from which the storage is
    obtained.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An EXEC CICS WAIT EVENT command using *
    * an ECB allocated within PUDSA storage, *
    *                      incorrectly abends AEXZ INVREQ RESP2(6) *
    ****************************************************************
In a CICS region with SIT override TRANISO=YES specified, a
program invoked by a transaction defined with ISOLATE(NO)
issues an EXEC CICS WAIT EVENT using an ECB which is allocated
within PUDSA storage. This is because it was created using a
GETMAIN with the EXECUTABLE option specified. DFHEKC incorrectly
detects that the ECB is in invalid storage leading to an abend
    AEXZ INVREQ with RESP2(6).

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEKC has been amended to accept ECBs allocated in PUDSA and
    EPUDSA storage.
