APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • CSD file compile crashes on AD 602

Local fix

  • n/a

Problem summary

  • CSD Compiler - When running the csd compiler on a project set up
on DB2 LUW, a database error is thrown and the compiler fails.

Problem conclusion

  • The client's source files contain programs and transactions
whose names contain a £ character which is represented on 2
bytes in UTF-8. Because our DB2 database is UTF-8 encoded, the
program/transaction name exceeds the limit set to the
    corresponding field in the table.
Fixed by increasing the limit of the program name and
transaction name fields in our DB. Also client's files need to
be ANSI encoded in order to be processed correctly.
    Fixed for 6.1.2
