Portal site restore fails with "Could not create database" in the portal www pod, admin container logs.

Troubleshooting


Problem

When a user restores a portal backup for all sites or a specific site, one or more of the sites might fail to install.

Symptom

Affected are users running API Connect fix packs 10.0.1.9, 10.0.5.2, and previous fix packs.

Users affected by this problem might see the following error present in the portal-www pod, admin container logs:

Resolving The Problem

If you see the error, then you can retry the restore for just the site that failed to restore and it should work the next time, as the error is caused by a race condition.
