IBM Support

Mixed content warnings are thrown in Firefox console while creating links between DWA and ETM

Troubleshooting

Problem

When you create links or try adding association between IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Web Access(DWA) running on HTTP protocol to IBM Engineering Test Management(ETM) artifacts, Firefox browser console shows mixed content warnings.

Cause

If the HTTPS page you visit includes HTTP content, the HTTP portion can be read or modified by attackers, even though the main page is served over HTTPS. When an HTTPS page has HTTP content, it is called "content mixed". The page you are visiting is only partially encrypted and even though it appears to be secure, it isn't.

Resolving The Problem

Unblocking insecure elements is not recommended but can be done, if necessary.
To disable mixed content warnings in Firefox:
  1. Open Firefox, enter about: config into address bar and hit Enter
  2. Use the search box, search for a setting called security.mixed_content.block_active_content
  3. Double-click on it. The value will automatically change from True to False
