In ClearCase, utfXXcleardiffmerge is not returning an error when comparing UTF file/files with more than 32,000 bytes in a line on Windows

Troubleshooting

Problem

In IBM® Rational ClearCase, utfXXcleardiffmerge should return the following error message when trying to work on a file with more than 32,000 bytes in a line:

utfXXcleardiffmerge/afd: Error: "<File name>" is not a 'UTF-XX file': it contains a line exceeding 32000 bytes.
Use a different type manager (such as compressed file).

However, the error is not displayed on the Windows console.

Diagnosing The Problem

The error message is redirected to the Event Viewer on Windows.

If the error message is not displayed on the Windows console, check the Windows Event Viewer.
