Error description

  • .NET client fails with below exception when trying browse
    multiple messages.
    
    Exception is as follows when the problem is seen with the
    "SimpleGet.cs" sample application:
    
    Exception caught: System.NullReferenceException: Object
    reference not set to an instance of an object.

Local fix

  • Set SHARECNV(0) on the server connection channel definition used
    by the application
    

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    User using managed .Net client and browsing messages through an
    alias queue.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    Windows, Linux on x86-64

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When browsing multiple messages through an alias queue, the
    resolved queue name was not copied correctly causing the browse
    to fail and System.NullReferenceException was thrown at the
    console.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The coding error has been resolved when browsing multiple
    messages through an alias queue and resolved queue name is
    copied correctly.
