This upgrade for ITCAM for Transaction Tracking supersedes 7.4.0.2 and can be applied to the following base version:

Note: 
  • After this upgrade is applied, the new revision level for ITCAM TT will be 7.4.0.2-IF0019.
  • On Linux environment, after you install or upgrade ITCAM to 7.4.0.2-IF0019, you must reconfigure Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server (TEMS), Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server (TEPS), and Tivoli Enterprise Portal Desktop Client (TEPD) by using Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services instead of using the command line.

Known issues

When you install application support for Transaction Collector agent and Transaction Reporter agent on ITM server in Windows environment, then the installer does not detect any installation files for Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server and Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server. Hence, the application support is not installed on ITM server in Windows environment.

Known limitations

The silent example file (silent.txt) is the default example file that is shipped with ITCAM for Transactions v7.4.0.2. The file contains examples for the CICSTX and IBM MQ Data Collectors. These collectors are not shipped with this maintenance delivery vehicle.

Installation information

Before installation

This MDV contains the following agents:

  • Transaction Reporter (TO)
  • Transaction Collector (TU)

Installing

On machines where Transaction Collector (TU) or Transaction Reporter (TO) agents are installed, use the following instructions:

On machines where you installed WAS-TT Data Collectors, use the following instructions (for the WAS-TT DC only): WAS-TT DC Installation instructions

On Windows systems, extract the files from the archive into a scratch directory. Double-click the WINDOWS\setup.exe command in the extracted files image to run the installer. Follow the prompts to install the update.

On UNIX systems, use the tar -xvf command to extract the installer from the archive into a scratch directory. Then, use the ./install.sh command in the extracted files image to run the installer. Follow the prompts to install the update.

Installing application support for TEPS/TEMS
For each monitoring agent installed, you must install agent-specific application support on IBM Tivoli Monitoring components. You can choose to install application support on all components at one time, or you can install the application support on components separately. If you are installing components separately, the following order is recommended:

  1. Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server
  2. Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server
  3. Tivoli Enterprise Portal Desktop Client
  4. Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server Browser client (for Linux and UNIX Only)
The procedure for installing agent-specific application support on the components is similar to installing the monitoring agent. The main difference is to select the application support components required.

It is recommended that all TT components, agents, and support, must be brought up to the same revision level as soon as is practical.

Note: When you are installing application support any IBM Tivoli Monitoring components on the current machine is automatically stopped, including any Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server or Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server. Follow the Starting and stopping servers and agents guide to manually stop IBM Tivoli Monitoring agents and infrastructure. Ensure that you notify other users before beginning the installation.

Performing the necessary tasks after installation

A successful installation modifies the ITCAM for TT version to 7.4.0.2.19. Ensure that the Transaction Reporter and Transaction Collector versions in MTEMS is '07.40.02.19'.

Cinfo or MTEMS report the following agent version:
07.40.02.19

On Windows, the installation logs are written to the following directory:
ITM_HOME\InstallITM\

On Unix, the installation logs are written to the following directory:
ITM_HOME/logs/

Uninstalling if necessary

If you choose to uninstall, then the entire product will be removed. 

On Windows, use the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs to remove the product.

On UNIX, use the following script to remove the product. 
ITM_HOME/bin/uninstall.sh
