Error description

  • Every time SQL SERVER 2019 with the "Always on" feature is
switched to another physical node App Connect Enterprise

still tries to communicate with the SQL node that has just been
switched away from. It keeps reporting a
"BIP2322E TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly
closed by the remote host." error message

The only workaround is to restart the Integration Server.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of App Connect Enterprise in Windows that use ODBC to
access a database that has been failed over to a different
    system.

    Platforms affected:
    Windows on x86-64 platform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a database that is being access from ACE on Windows via
ODBC is failed over to a different database server this error is
    reported as:

"BIP2322E TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly
closed by the remote host." .

The ODBC connections being used by ACE fail to reconnect with
    the new database server.
The only way to resolve this situation is to restart the
    Integration Server.

Problem conclusion

  • App Connect Enterprise on Windows has been changed so that when
a ODBC connection is forcibly closed by a database it will
remove old connection information, leading to a new connection
    being made.
