Troubleshooting
Problem
This problem happens with the 64-bit version of Planning Analytics for Excel.
There is an error when trying to connect with Edge WebView2 configured ("r74_EnableWebView2ForAuth" is set to "true" in tm1features.json):
COI-ERR-2025 IBM Planning Analytics for Excel was unable to find an installed Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime. Please download and install the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime in accordance with your local IT policies.
Yet, Edge WebView2 version 64-bit appears to be installed:
-The Edge WebView2 installation folder does exist: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView
-The msedgewebview2.exe file does exist in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application\106.0.1370.42\
Note: the reason why Edge WebView2 version 64-bit is installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)" is because Microsoft Edge 64-bit is still installed here for now. Microsoft will probably decide to install Edge 64-bit in "C:\Program Files" for a future version of Edge 64-bit: if you need more information on that matter, contact Microsoft Support.
Cause
The 64-bit version of EmbeddedBrowserWebView.dll is not installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application\106.0.1370.42\EBWebView\x64\
The reason is unsure: possibly the 32-bit version of Edge WebView2 was installed before the 64-bit version, or the setup file (MicrosoftEdgeWebView2RuntimeInstallerX64.exe) was not run with elevated administration rights (by right-clicking the file and selecting "Run as administrator")
Resolving The Problem
-Open the Windows Control Panel and select "Uninstall a program"
-Uninstall "Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime"
-Verify that C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView directory was removed
-Right-click MicrosoftEdgeWebView2RuntimeInstallerX64.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
-At the end of the installation, close the installer, and verify that there are both a \x86 folder and a \x64 folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application\106.0.1370.42\EBWebView\
-In the \x64 folder, verify that there is an EmbeddedBrowserWebView.dll file
