Abstract
The SQL Query Engine (SQE) is improved in IBM i 7.5 to automatically recognize and adjust its approach to utilizing parallel processing when the system CPU is reaching high levels of consumption. By default, when the CPU usage rises above 80%, SQE will cease to utilize parallelism, in a move to protect the overall processing of the IBM i.
The PARALLEL_MAX_SYSTEM_CPU QAQQINI option provides clients a mechanism to adjust the percentage higher or lower.
