Error description

  • Integration servers in ACE can only have names which use a small
    subset of characters, unlike IIB v10 and below which allow a
    wide range of characters to be used. The mqsiextractcomponents
    command should issue a warning when an invalid name is found for
    an integration server and it should rename it to something
    acceptable. Valid integration server names contain the
    following characters:

    * 'A' (U+0041) through 'Z' (U+005A)
    * 'a' (U+0061) through 'z' (U+007A)
    * '0' (U+0030) through '9' (U+0039)
    * The underscore '_' (U+005F)
    * The dash '-' (U+002D)
    * The percent sign '%' (U+0025)
    * The at sign '@' (U+0040)
    * The tilde '~' (U+007E)
    * The exclamation mark '!' (U+0021)
    * The hash mark '#' (U+0023)

    Integration servers with invalid names will not start correctly
    and their integration nodes will become unresponsive.

Local fix

  • Manually rename integration servers by renaming the integration
    server folder in /var/mqsi/components/NODE_NAME/servers or
    C:\ProgramData\IBM\MQSI\components\NODE_NAME\servers

Problem conclusion

  • Integration servers that have forbidden characters in their name
    will be renamed when mqsiextractcomponents is run. A BIP8694
    message will be issued when this occurs.

    After migration, integration servers can be renamed by renaming
    the appropriate subdirectory of
    [MQSI_WORKPATH]/components/[integrationNodeName]/servers to a
    valid server name.
