Error description

  • The following error messages are returned to the user when they
    execute the command "tacmd tepslogin -s http://server:15200 -u
    sysadmin -p mypass" and the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server
    (TEPS) has its external interface configured for SSL (Enable SSL
    for TEP Clients).
    
    KUICTL001I Validating user credentials...
    KUICTL099E The tepsLogin command failed because an unexpected
    error occurred. Please consult the
    /opt/IBM/ITM/logs/TepsLoginCLI_0.log log file to determine the
    cause of the error.
    An unexpected system error occurred while executing the
    tepsLogin command.
    The TepsLoginCLI_0.log file may provide more information about
    this error. If you require further assistance resolving the
    error, contact IBM Software Support.
    
    KUIC00006E: The specified user name or password is incorrect.
    You are not logged in because you specified an incorrect user
    name or password or you do not have permission to log in.
    Verify the correct user name and password and that you have
    permission to log in.
    

Local fix

  • For Unix/Linux  TEPS add the following line to the TEPS
    $CANDLEHOME/config/cq.ini file
    KFW_ORB_ENABLED_PROTOCOLS=TLS_Version_1_2_Only
    
    For Windows TEPS add the following line to the TEPS
    %Candle_Home%/bin/KFWENV file
    KFW_ORB_ENABLED_PROTOCOLS=TLS_Version_1_2_Only
    
    Restart the TEPS.
    

Problem summary

  • After updating to 630 FP7 Service Pack 12, executing the command
     tacmd tepslogin -s http://tepsserver:15200 -u sysadmin -p
    mypass returns the following messages to the user:
    
    KUICTL001I Validating user credentials...
    KUICTL099E The tepsLogin command failed because an unexpected
    error occurred.  Please consult the
    /opt/IBM/ITM/logs/TepsLoginCLI_0.log log file to determine the
    cause of the error.
    An unexpected system error occurred while executing the
    tepsLogin command.
    The TepsLoginCLI_0.log file may provide more information about
    this error.  If you require further assistance resolving the
    error, contact IBM Software Support.
    KUIC00006E: The specified user name or password is incorrect.
    
    
    Code specifies incorrect username for connection and
    authentication protocols resulting in a failure to connect to
    the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Correct username processing specifying connnection and
    authentication protocols.
