Statements of direction

IBM plans to introduce IBM i 7.1 on specific configurations of the IBM Power Systems servers, October 2020 (Fulfilled November 2020)

IBM plans to introduce IBM i 7.1 on specific configurations of the IBM Power Systems S922 servers (9009-22G and 9009-22A) and IBM Power Systems E980 servers (9080-M9S): the specific configurations are S922 and E980 servers with VIOS and restricted I/O mode. The S922 1-core server is not included in the specific configurations.

Limited GA Program Description for PowerVC managing IBM i VMs, June 2014 (Fulfilled December 2014)

The limited general availability program for PowerVC management of IBM i VMs will start on June 10, 2014. The intent of the limited GA program is to ensure that the clients that would be interested in participating in this program would have the appropriate environment to benefit from the new support management support for IBM i within PowerVC.

Verify Application Run Time Attributes, April 2010 (Fulfilled June 2010 with announcement of 5733-ARE IBM Application Runtime Expert for i)

IBM plans to deliver a new capability for IBM i to verify application run time attributes to help ensure consistent performance and deployment of new workloads.

WebSphere Commerce, April 2010 (Fulfilled July 2010)

IBM currently intends to deliver a version of WebSphere Commerce for servers running the IBM i 7.1 operating system based on the currently available WebSphere Commerce V7 release made available October 30, 2009.
