Error description
In SQL Server when an aggregation function (such as max()) is called and one of the sets of values being aggregated contains a NULL value, the database produces a warning message to show this has happened. In some circumstances App Connect Enterprise misinterpreted the warning as an error. These are the typical messages reported in the Unix or Linux syslog or trace. **************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: All users of App Connect Enterprise accessing an SQL Server database from AIX or Linux. Platforms affected: AIX, Linux on Power platform, Linux on x86-64 platform, Linux on zSeries platform **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a NULL value is passed to an SQL Server aggregation function, such as 'max(), the database must inform the user that the aggregarion or SET operation took place on data that contained a NULL. To do this SQL Server issues these warning messages DIAG [01000] [IBM][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver][Microsoft SQL Server]Warning: Null value is eliminated by an aggregate or other SET operation. and SQLState = 01000 Native = 0x7f1fe083ef8c -> 8153 Message Text = [[IBM][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver][Microsoft SQL Server]Warning: Null value is eliminated by an aggregate or other SET ] App Connect Enterprise incorrectly interpreted this warning from the database as an error.
