IT41815: COPY TO AZURE THROTTLE SET, BUT NOT HONORED OR NOT WORKING WITH VSNAP ON RHEL 8.X

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The throttle is not being honored when using vSnap deployed on
  RHEL 8.x.
  vSnap is receiving the correct throttle notifications from IBM
  Spectrum Protect Plus,
  
  but the vSnap cannot set it because the "tc" utility (traffic
  control) is missing in the vSnap RHEL 8.x package.
  
  
  vSnap logs show this warning:

  vSnap packages 10.1.8.x and later, delivered for RHEL 8.x does
  not include these missing RPMs:

Problem conclusion

• The problem was caused by missing binary /usr/sbin/tc (traffic
  control utility) which is used for bandwidth throttling. For
  vSnap servers running on RHEL 8, this binary was not included in
  the vSnap package. The problem has been resolved by
  incorporating it into the vSnap installer.
