  *                 interoperability features, such as the       *
  *                 JAVA-CALLABLE and JAVA-SHAREABLE directives  *
  *                 or make calls to static Java methods using   *
  *                 the CALL statement.                          *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect or missing error messages in  *
  *                      cjbuild and the compiler relating to    *
  *                      incorrect usage of non-OO Java/COBOL    *
  *                      interoperability features.              *

  *                      Also, under certain circumstances, an   *
  *                      incorrect Java accessor class is        *
  *                      produced for accessing COBOL            *
  *                      working-storage directly in Java for    *
  *                      Java-shareable COBOL items that are     *
  *                      groups or tables.                       *

  The cjbuild utility was not correctly handling working-storage
  initialization stub files when the JAVAIOP(OUTPATH) option was
  specified with a non-default output directory. cjbuild was also
  failing to leave a copy of the side deck for the DLL it produces
  in the current directory in the case where the DLL is output to
  a dataset. Some error messages in both cjbuild and the compiler
  involving incorrect usages of interoperability directives were
  missing and there were some cases where Java-shareable items
  that were groups or tables were being mishandled.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was updated to address various usability and
  stability issues relating to the non-OO Java/COBOL
  interoperability feature.
