This section describes how to apply this update to Dynamic Workload Console V.10.1.0.0 and V.10.1.0.0-2022.05.

Before starting the update, verify that:
  • The Dynamic Workload Console is active.
  • All Dynamic Workload Console users have logged out.
This section is divided into the following subsections:

Update notes

Read this section thoroughly before updating to V.10.1.0.0-2022.07

  • Before updating to V.10.1.0.0-2022.07, ensure you have installed the required prerequisite software. To obtain the latest information about software requirements for IBM Workload Scheduler, see Detailed System Requirements.

Installation methods

When updating to the Dynamic Workload Console V.10.1.0.0-2022.07, manually replace the WD.war file on every master domain manager running IBM Workload Scheduler v10.1 present in the Manage Engines list of the Dynamic Workload Console.

Replacing the master domain manager WD.war
To replace the master domain manager WD.war, perform the following steps on each master domain manager running IBM Workload Scheduler v10.1 present in the Manage Engines list of the Dynamic Workload Console:
  1. Stop the WebSphere Application Server Liberty Base on the master domain manager running the following command:
    On Windows operating systems
    \TWA_home\appservertools\stopAppServer.bat
    On UNIX operating systems
    /TWA_home/appservertools/stopAppServer.sh
  2. In the ${TWS_INST_DIR}/usr/servers/engineServer/apps/TWSEngineModel.ear directory, rename the WD.war file to WD.war_ORI in a different backup directory.
  3. Download the WD.warseperatedly from IBM Fix Central as IWS_101_WD_10.1.2022.07.war and copy it into the ${TWS_INST_DIR}/usr/servers/engineServer/apps/TWSEngineModel.ear directory with the name WD_new.war.
  4. Unzip the WD_new.war file naming the destination directory WD.war. On UNIX operating systems, use the following command:
    unzip WD_new.war -d ./WD.war
If the destination directory is not named WD.war, the product might not work as expected.
  5. Verify the owner or group owning the directory and files, making sure it is the same owner or group of the original directory.
  6. Remove the WD_new.war file.
  7. Start the WebSphere Application Server Liberty Base on the master domain manager running the following command:
    On Windows operating systems
    \TWA_home\appservertools\startAppServer.bat -directclean
    On UNIX operating systems
    /TWA_home/appservertools/startAppServer.sh -directclean
Completing the update to Dynamic Workload ConsoleV.10.1.0.0-2022.07
  1. Stop the Dynamic Workload Console.
  2. Delete the ${DWC_HOME}/usr/servers/dwcServer/dwc_workarea/WorkloadDesigner_Cache directory where you are planning to update the Dynamic Workload Console V.10.1.0.0-2022.07.
  3. Update to Dynamic Workload Console V.10.1.0.0-2022.07. You can find the detailed procedure here: Updating the Dynamic Workload Console.
Note: The new Workload Designer cache directory is automatically generated the first time you access an updated master domain manager with the Workload Designer.
Note: You still have to follow the above-mentioned WD.war manual replacement procedure if you are installing the Dynamic Workload Console for the first time. Once the manual replacement has been completed, follow the standard Dynamic Workload Console installation procedure:
On distributed
Installing the Dynamic Workload Console
On z/OS
Installing the Dynamic Workload Console
