Error description

  • With MQ performance events enabled along with QSVCINT, if
messages are PUT to a queue, QDPHIEV, and QDPMAXEV become
DISABLED even if their thresholds have not been met. MQ
Development finds that changes made in APAR PI54598
reorganized some of the code in CSQMIAPM. This introduced a
code path where the flags which control queue depth events are
all turned off. The code path where this occurs is when
generating a Queue Service Interval High event for private
queues. This APAR will align MQ behavior to the documented
    design.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using performance events it's *
    * possible for service interval events *
    * to incorrectly enable or disable queue *
    *                      depth events.                           *
    ****************************************************************
The code that sets the queue depth event flags incorrectly
checked a flag that is set for both queue depth events and
service interval events. This resulted in the queue depth
events being enabled or disabled as a result of service
    interval events.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed to prevent service interval events
enabling or disabling queue depth events.
