IJ41198: RETURNING A ROTATING ITEM/ASSET FROM INVENTORY TYPE LOCATION RESULTS IN BMXAA0019I ERROR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The psdi.app.inventory.MatUseTrans java class has changed with
  the upgrade from Maximo 7.6.0.10.
  
  Changes made within moveAsset
  method do not allow to return a rotating item/part from
  Inventory type location as before the upgrade.
  
  The part of
  code that is trying to set asset.newparent value but without
  required priviliges is " rotAssetRec.setValueNull("newparent");
  ".
  The field access logic here is to allow such change only
  for non inventory type locations.
  
  STEPS TO REPRODUCE: N/A
  
  
  UNEXPECTED RESULTS:
  
  The current behaviour is that due to an
  additional attempt to
  set:
  
  this.rotAssetRec.setValueNull("newparent"); value
  validation process does not allow to set such value for an
  asset being assigned to inventory type location.
  For inventory
  locations below error message is appearing:
  
  "! BMXAA00191 -
  The To Parent field is either read only or part of the primary
  key. You cannot edit this field."
  
  EXPECTED RESULTS:
  
  The past
  behaviour allowed Maximo users to return a rotating item/asset
  from inventory type location to another inventory type
  location.
  
  This was actioning by creation of RETURN type
  MATUSETRANS entry based on "Select Subassemblies to Return"
  work order dialog.
  
  ENVIRONMENT:
  
  Maximo 7.6.1.2
  

Local fix

• Dev to Provide fix. Issue only reproducible on client's
  customised environment, however the fix has been confirmed via
  testfix.
