Abstract
IBM MaaS360 Cloud Extender version 3.x ends support for Windows Server 2012 on 15 December 2022.

Summary:
The MaaS360 Cloud Extender is composed of a core agent and various modules depending on the services that are configured for the Cloud Extender.
In October 2022, the IBM MaaS360 Cloud Extender version 3.x agent and modules are set to be elevated to Release Candidate status. The following details outline the changes to the MaaS360 Cloud Extender agent and modules:
- Existing agent and modules version 2.x will continue to work on Windows Server 2012 - 2019.
- The 3.x agent installs only on Windows Server 2016 and later.
Impact:
Customers with MaaS360 Cloud Extender version 2.x will not receive new features or bug fixes post October 2022 with the release of Cloud Extender version 3.x. The 3.x modules require the use of the new Cloud Extender Configuration Tool. The older Configuration Tool (ASConfig.exe) will no longer be supported with the 3.x version.
Action:
Customers should upgrade the servers where the MaaS360 Cloud Extenders are installed to Windows Server 2016 or later. Customers migrating to a new Cloud Extender on Windows Server 2016 or later server can follow the steps here.
The new Cloud Extender Configuration Tool must be used to configure the Cloud Extender modules going forward. The ConfigTool.exe is located in the directory where Cloud Extender is installed (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\MaaS360\Cloud Extender\ConfigTool.exe). Beta Opportunity:
Customers who are interested in participating in the Cloud Extender 3.x Beta should reach out to customer support for access to the Beta program. The Beta program is scheduled to begin in mid October 2022.
