at io.trino.jdbc.TrinoDatabaseMetaData.getCatalogs(TrinoDatabaseMetaData.java:969) ~[trino-jdbc-356-e.11.jar:356-e.11]
Cause
As the XQE logs generate a clearer error message, this is due to an authentication error with the JDBC trino driver. Please note that this is an interaction between the JDBC client and the DB backend. This is not a Cognos error and you can reproduce this with any JDBC client.
The root cause identifies that username contains special LDAP character(s) only used by Trino LDAP.
Resolving The Problem
You should change the username to something simplified.
If you need to troubleshoot further, this should be discussed with the Trino vendor.
