IT41282: EXCEPTION 'READ TIMED OUT' SHOWED UP WHEN SENDING EMAIL NOTIFICATION AFTER CREATING CUSTOMER REPORT

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When creating customer reports at IBM Spectrum Protect Plus the
  report will be successfully generated - the job finishs with
  status COMPLETED and the notification email will be sent.
  Even if customer is receiving the email notification
  following error message shows up at the end of the job log:
  
   ERROR,<timestamp>,,,Notification failed:Exception happened
    during sending email:
    Failed messages: javax.mail.MessagingException: Exception
    reading response;
        nested exception is:
              java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

Problem conclusion

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus SMTP configuration has been fixed to
  accept a timeout value. This timeout can be adjusted to address
  the READ TIME OUT error after report execution.
