Error description

  • This issue can be seen when using the IBM Transformation
    Extender (ITX) 10.1.1 Azure SQL adapter to call a stored
    procedure, and one of the arguments is a text value.  The error
    message displayed is something like:
    
    <443132-455380-04/11/22 17:32:22>:    Caught exception:
    java.lang.NumberFormatException
    For input string: "Data"
    java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "Data"
    

Local fix

    Circumvention: A GET() function can be used instead of a card
    to call the procedure, and this works
    

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
    IBM Transformation Extender users using JDBC adapter based
    adapters like AzureSQL, SalesForce and ServiceNow.
    
    Problem Description:
    AzureSQL adapter fails to run stored procedure when invoked from
    PUT function or output card specification when it should run the
    stored procedure though it cannot return the result set to the
    map
    
    Platforms Affected:
    All
    

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed a problem with AzureSQL adapter where it now executes the
    stored procedure properly when invoked from PUT function or
    output card specification like it does with GET function or
    input card specification.
    
    Applies to:
    10.0.0.0, 10.1.0.1, 10.1.1.0
    
    Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
