  "Here is what I have gathered In a nutshell regarding dashboard
  improvements in 11.2. and how query optimization functions.
  There have been improvements to consolidate so fewer queries are
  sent to the query engine.
  Benefits - Total number of SQL queries dispatched to underlying
  data sources will be fewer because now there will be queries
  pulling in measures (for example through one query vs separate
  queries per measure).
  Some other benefits is that's less request traffic to the query
  engine, less churning of the query result cache, as well so
  there are several net benefits that flow through.
  There is a toggle box in the dashboard where you can turn this
  feature on or off, in order to compare the efficacy of said
  optimization."
  
  FYI - The customer has initiated closure of the case, so think
  we are good for now. They are happy with the explanation above.
