Troubleshooting
Problem
On a new setup, Connect:Direct node is not running on the Control Center Director .
Symptom
The agent.log file contain the error:
"The common name validation method from CPI to common name XXXXXX returns false", being XXXXXX the Common Name (CN) of the Certificate.
Diagnosing The Problem
Debug Install Agent:
- Backup the log4j2.xml
- Edit C:\Program Files\Sterling Commerce\Connect:Direct v6.1.00\install\agent\bin\log4j2.xml
- Change INFO to DEBUG as it shows in the figure below.
- Reproduce the issue.
- Stop File Agent in the service and Connect:Direct.
- Start Connect:Direct and File Agent
Go to C:\Program Files\Sterling Commerce\Connect:Direct v6.1.00\install\logs
Check the file agent.log for errors, then
- Restore the original log4j2.xml
- Stop and start Install Agent and Connect:Direct.
Resolving The Problem
Make sure the Common Name of the Certificate and the user proxy name matches.
If the user proxy name has a space before the user proxy name string, then the connection will not work. The exact string has to match. No spaces before and after the user proxy name are allowed.
