APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Client  8.1.x install changes /usr owner:group from
(bin/bin) to (root/system).
The permissions is overwritten to root:system after the
installation of Jbb or Filepath components.

For example, the last updated timestamp in istat command matches
client installation timestamp.

Local fix

  • Change /usr OWNER:GROUP by following command after Tivoli
Storage Manage Journal Base Backup fileset installation
# chown bin:bin /usr
