Error description
MQ APAR 'IT33901 : Performance degradation when using extended message selection' addresses a performance issue observed with Content Based Filtering. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IT33901 By default Content Based Filtering engine attempts maximum 6 times with an wait interval of 5 seconds ie total 30 seconds to get filter evaluation requests from MQ side and this value is not configurable. Even after applying the MQ APAR IT33901, it may be required to change the wait time from its default 30 seconds to improve the performance of extended message selection.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM App Connect Enterprise V11.0 and V12.0 and IBM Integration Bus V10.0 using Content based filtering. Platforms affected: z/OS, MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MQ APAR 'IT33901 : Performance degradation when using extended message selection' addresses a performance issue observed with Content Based Filtering. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IT33901 By default Content Based Filtering engine attempts to get filter evaluation requests from MQ side a maximum 6 times with an wait interval of 5 seconds in between attempts ( ie total 30 seconds). This value is not configurable. If running with an MQ version which is affected by MQ APAR IT33901 this may not be enough time to wait for data. Even after applying the MQ APAR IT33901, it may be required to change the wait time from its default 30 seconds to improve the performance of extended message selection.
Problem conclusion
The product now introduces an environment variable 'MQSI_CBF_MAX_GET_ATTEMPTS' to configure the number of times the Content Based Filtering engine attempts to get a filter work requests from MQ so that the maximum time it waits for a request can be increased or decreased. For example, setting the value to '12' makes the Content Based Filtering engine to wait maximum 60 seconds for a work request. export MQSI_CBF_MAX_GET_ATTEMPTS=12 --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v10.0 10.0.0.26 v11.0 11.0.0.16 v12.0 12.0.4.0 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&uid=swg27006041 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found on: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&uid=swg27006308 ---------------------------------------------------------------
