PH45652: OBJECT COMPARE - INCORRECT COLUMN ORDERING WHEN INSERTING AND DROPPING COLUMNS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Object Compare tries to append the columns that are being added
  in the middle of the table. It tries to do this because the
  column being dropped is in the same position as the columns
  being added. Compare should maintain the column ordering and
  drop/create the table.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect column ordering results when  *
  *                      running a WSL that was generated by     *
  *                      Object Compare to drop and add columns  *
  *                      to a table.                             *
  ****************************************************************
  Comparing two tables might result in the wrong column ordering
  if the column that is dropped from the target table is in the
  same position as the first column that is added from the source
  table. In this instance, Object Compare generated ALTER
  statements to perform the operation.
  
  With this fix, Object Compare will now generate DROP and CREATE
  statements for the target table to ensure the correct column
  ordering.

• The problem has been resolved.
