Error description

  • Error message as reported by customer: None

    Stack Trace: None:

    Other Error Information:
There was no memory growth observed in Java 8.0.6.36 level. With
Java 8SR7, memory growth is observed. After applying IJ37785,
the rate of memory growth has slowed but significantly larger
    than Java8, SR6FP36

Work around: Make IBMJCE as the default provider ahead of
    IBMJCEPlus in java.security file. (edited)

Local fix

Problem summary

  • There is a memory growth observed during digest operations using
    IBMJCEPlus as the provider.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

The memory growth was observed during digest operations using
since Java 8, SR7. As part of the Java 8, Sr7, IBMJCEPlus is
made the default provider. Java 8, SR6, FP36 had IBMJCE as the
default provider and memory growth was not observed.

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM has been updated to fix the memory growth when digest
operations are performed with IBMJCEPlus as the provider. The
native library releases JNI memory associated with a digest
    name.
