APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When starting Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6.0.11 with
editors previously left open for RPG source members in i
Projects, the parsing jobs that run for those open editors may
not complete, and just remain showing in the Progress view. This
can happen for source being edited from i Projects which include
/copy files which are not found in the RDI local cache.

When a parsing job does not complete, the RPG Outline view for
the editor is not populated or updated.

Requesting cancel for the job in the Progress view also has no
effect in this scenario.

Local fix

  • If this happens, close the editor for the related parse job and
re-open the editor for that i Project member.

  • This problem is fixed in the RDi 9.6.0.12 update.
