Error description
In the Graphical Work Week (GWW) application this error appears when assigning a task that has no Planned Labor: BMXAT1118W - This labor is assigned to a crew and not available But the Labor is not assigned to a crew so the message is incorrect. You can go to the Labor and select View Craft Assignments to verify that the Labor is not assigned to a crew. You also know it is not assigned to a crew since the steps below show it working in one case, meaning that the Labor is not assigned to a crew, and then fails the in the next case for the same Labor. It doesn't happen all the time. It typically happens with the task is planned in one week and you try to assign it in the next week. In the steps below there is one case where it works correctly and one where it produces the error. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Create a new work order with Duration 5 and a Scheduled Start date of the next Monday. 2. On the Plans tab make 2 tasks for the work order, each with Duration of 5. 3. Create a Planned Labor row for one of the tasks, for example for task 10 but not for task 20. 4. Go to GWW and create a new Work List. Give it Calendar DAY and Shift DAY (extend the Calendar and Apply Shifts to cover the current year if necessary). 5. Specify the Start Date as the next Monday and the End Date 2 weeks from then. 6. Create a Work Query to select the new work order. 7. Save and click on Graphical View. 8. For the Task 20 row that has no Planned Labor you will see that the Resource column is blank and the Status column has the work order status such as WAPPR unlike the Task 10 row that has the Craft name in the Resource column and has Status WAITASGN. 7. Select the Task 20 row, the one with no Resource by checking the checkbox at the beginning of the row. 8. In the lower Resource section that shows the Craft and the available Labor double click in the cell for Monday for the first Labor where it says 8 for 8 hours available that day. 9. The Assign Labor dialog will come up showing the Labor and how long the assignment is. This is correct. 10. Click Cancel to clear the Assign Labor dialog. 11. Click the Next Week toolbar button to change the display to the next week. 12. Select the Task 20 row again. 13. Double click on the Monday for the first Labor row, the same Labor as used above. RESULTS: Instead of the Assign Labor dialog box appearing this error is shown: BMXAT1118W - This labor is assigned to a crew and not available Though the error is wrong as this is the same Labor that worked correctly before advancing the week. You can do a Go To Labor on it and click View Crew Assignments and see that it is not in a Crew. EXPECTED RESULTS: For the Assign Labor dialog to come up as it did earlier. REPORTED IN VERSION: 7612 with IFix 018
