Error description

  • Several Case components in IBM Business Automation Workflow
still use and package log4j 1.x.
This APAR is to track the effort of removing the usage of the
log4j 1.x from these components.

Case components affected:
- Case Builder
- Case Forms
- Case Manager
- Case Event Emitter
- Case Configuration Tool
- ICMBPMServices
- WSCPEServices

Problem conclusion


    

  • A fix is available or will be available that ensures case
components in IBM Business Automation Workflow stop using
log4j 1.x libraries.

Post installation of the fix, navigate to the
config folder for
the deployment manager and all nodes to manually remove
the remaining unused log4j jar files.
IBM Business Automation Workflow releases 22.0.1 and later no
longer include the log4j files.
The jar files are packaged inside ear and war files.  Use zip or
jar utilities to open and remove the files.
