SE77334: RDI 9.6.0 RDI LOCKS UP AT STARTUP WHEN RPG AND DDS SOURCE EDITORS LEFT OPEN FROM LAST RDI SHUTDOWN

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6 can get into a locked up user
  interface state and be non-responsive when it is restarted after
  shutting down with source editors left open for RPG and DSPF or
  PRTF source, and when there is no saved password for the host
  connection. It gets into a deadlock situation where both editors
  want to prompt for the host logon password.
  
  To avoid getting into this, always close any edit sessions for
  DSPF or PRTF source such as Screen Designer or Report Designer
  before stopping RDI.
  

Local fix

• With RDI stopped, delete the local cached copy of the
  DSPF/PRTF source that was an open editor in the RDI workspace
  before starting RDI. If there is concern about losing source
  changes, then first save a backup copy of the file in another
  location.
  When RDI is restarted, respond with selecting Close to the
  dialog prompt for File Not Accessible.
  
  The file to delete, and backup as required, can be found at
  <your-workspace-path>\RemoteSystemsTempFiles\<your-hostname>\QSY
  S.LIB\<your-lib>.LIB\<your-file>.FILE
