APAR status

Error description

  • DETAIL OF PROBLEM:
    When opening a CSP Case/Ticket for a device problem, ie bad disk
    drive, using Storage Insights may not obtain the correct
    location of the physical device.  This is due to Storage
    Insights sending a improperly formed request to the IBM
    IEPD/CallHome automation tool.

    Server/Manager build/release: 54X

    Problem as described by customer: Location of the device is
    inaccurate and the IBM Hardware Support engineer may deliver the
    FRU to the incorrect location causing delays and confusion.
    Initial customer impact (low/med/high): med
    

Local fix

  • Workaround - Open Hardware case outside of Storage Insights,
    using IBM Support Portal or by calling IBM Support phone line.
