  • IBM Explorer for z/OS
    
    When opening a JCL member with the JCL Editor, if a comment
    line contains the character ¦ , represented in hex by x'6A',
    the user might see a warning for the given line saying:
    "Unexpected character ignored".
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Character x'6A' broken pipe character on JCL editor is flagged
    as unexpected character even on JCL comment
    

Problem conclusion

  • Character x'6A' broken pipe character was unaccounted for as a
    valid token on JCL parser. Once added, fixed the error
