Error description

  • After the upgrade to 10.1.9, BACKUP can fail with:

    <JobID>. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version 10.1.9-2544.

    Appliance will be in unstable state until virgo is restarted.
    The IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Server log bundles can be
    extracted fine,
    
    but they are incomplete and missing files / directories and
    appliance can freeze/hang

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus has been fixed to address "Too many
    open files" error.  Log collection was fixed to assure that open
    directory handles were closed properly.
