The information in these instructions contains fix list and other package information about the Hardware Management Console BoMC image. Lenovo Bootable Media Creator (BoMC) was used to create this bootable image for applying firmware updates to the HMC.
CR9 B0MC Image contents
This image contains the following levels of uEFI, DSA, and IMM:
IMM: TCOE50B 5.40
UEFI: TBEG44J 3.11
DSA: DSAOB6F 10.5
This package represents a BoMC image that can be used to update your HMC from any previous level of uEFI, DSA, or IMM code levels.

Fixes
This image is built for the 7042-CR9 model based off the fixes provided for the xSeries equivalent model system the 5463. IBM recommends updating the firmware on the HMC to ensure critical fixes are installed.

Installation
Instructions for downloading, burning, and installing this image
Please burn the iso image to a DVD.
Steps to update the firmware, using the DVD:
1) Boot the HMC from the CR9BoMC DVD
2) At the BOMC MENU, select option 3 (Advanced System Configuration)
3) At the Advanced System Configuration menu, select option 10 (Command Line for Advanced Users)
4) At the prompt, type the following command and hit enter:
./HMC_update_tool.sh
The "Hardware Management Console Flash Utility" will load.
5) To update the IMM, enter 1 and press Enter
6) When finished, press Enter to reboot.
7) Repeat steps 1-4 and at the menu, enter 2 to update (ie. UEFI and DSA).
8) When finished, press Enter to reboot.
9) Repeat steps 1-4 and at the menu, enter 3 to update the RAID controller and Ethernet adapter FW.
10) When finished, press Enter to reboot.
If PE recommended that C-States be disabled
1) Boot the HMC from the CR9BoMC DVD
2) At the BOMC MENU, select option 3 (Advanced System Configuration)
3) At the Advanced System Configuration menu, select option 10 (Command Line for Advanced Users)
4) At the prompt, type the following command and hit enter:
./HMC_update_tool.sh
The "Hardware Management Console Flash Utility" will load.
5) TO disable C-States, select option 4, and press Enter
6) Verify that all the steps complete successfully and press Enter to reboot
7) Remove the DVD from the HMC and allow it to boot from hard drive
It might be necessary to power off the HMC and restart it, to remove the DVD.
